The name Suki carries a dual meaning: it signifies a deep appreciation for beauty (“affinity”), while also serving as a homonym for “gathering numbers”—the act of carefully selecting distinct elements to create a unified value. Born from the designer’s desire to “edit” strictly selected materials through a Japanese aesthetic lens, the collection embodies a modern form that retains a traditional spirit.
Physically, the design is defined by the juxtaposition of a substantial 16mm-thick tabletop and antique-finished steel legs. This composition exudes a powerful presence hidden within a quiet silhouette. Available in semi-custom specifications to perfectly match your layout, Suki brings a sense of refined elegance and harmony to any contemporary space.
「数寄」は「好き」を指し、物・事に深く傾慕し美意識を持って、その生まれてくる価値を楽しむことを意味しています。また、「数寄」は「数を寄せる」と書くように一つ一つの要素を選択し寄せ集めることで、一つの価値を創り出すとも読み替えることができます。
「日本的な美意識を持って選び抜かれた素材・要素を編集し家具という形が与えられたもの」でありたいという思いからそのように名付けることにしました。現代的な形態でありながらも日本の美意識を内包した家具でありたい、「SUKI」にはその思いが込められています。（榊田倫之）
